There is a Brexit Teddy on the wall of the former British Embassy in Budapest. There to comfort us, but annoyingly out of reach.

The long, drawn-out process of the UK leaving the EU was stressful.
The creator of the tiny sculpture series wanted to help ease the tensions and gave the people a Teddy.
Mihály Kolodko installed Mr. Bean’s beloved Teddy, ’Teddy’ on the wall of the former British Embassy in Budapest.
Teddy looks soft and cuddly, and could have been just what was needed for all of the BREXIT anxiety. But Teddy is sitting several meters up on the wall, and we have been separated from Teddy. Just like the EU has been separated from the UK.
Or maybe Teddy is just looking down on us, judging?
Unlike all of Kolodko’s other tiny statues in Budapest, this one is purposefully out of reach. And knowing Kolodko, there is a metaphor in that distance.
