Michael Jackson visited Budapest a total of three times. Every time he come to Budapest, he stayed in the very same suite in the Kempinski Hotel, Elizabeth Square.

Knowing this was where Michael Jackson was, hoards of fans would camp out in the square for days waiting to catch a glimpse of the icon. But that wasn’t so difficult. During his stays, Jackson would spend much of his time standing by the window. Waving and offering messages to his fans.

After his death, fans inaugurated the tree next to which they had spent so many hours as a Michael Jackson Memorial Tree. The tree has been licensed as such by the District V Municipality.

If you hang out long enough, you’ll for sure spot someone with one glove, exposed white socks, tight pants and a hot taking care of the flowers and candles that have been burning at this tree ever since.
