Vienna Hiking Paths

All of the hiking paths laid out by the Municipal Department 49 – City’s Forestry Office (MA 49) are well signposted and accessible by public transport. They are properly kept and secured regularly, disposing of a high level of infrastructure for your convenience. There are children’s playgrounds along the way, as well as picnic tables and seating with fabulous views or nearby wood glades.
The city hiking paths can also be found on the online Vienna city map for mobile devices. While you are walking, enable location access on your mobile phone to show your current location on the map.
Useful tips for Vienna Hiking
- Use of the hiking paths is at your own risk. There is no winter clearance service.
- The city’s hiking paths were laid out in keeping with natural conditions. Walking on them may be difficult at the best of times. Proper walking boots and clothing are recommended at all times. Don’t forget to bring along rain gear.
- Please keep your dog on a leash. This helps to protect your dog and the environment.
- Stick to the marked paths.
- Try not to pick flowers.
- Don’t touch any young animals you may find on the way. Fellow animals can smell your scent and reject the animal you have touched.
- Refrain from smoking in the woods. Woods burn easily.
- Stick to public barbecue sites for your outdoor cooking adventures.
